I've been reading a number of posts on this forum in regard to the general displeasure with the Garmin Tread application. Just thinking out loud here, but shouldn't there be a separate sub-forum called "Tread" under Garmin Software?
Anyways, the ability to send gpx files to my Garmin XT2 wirelessly is very cool. For that reason alone, I've enabled the "Tread" application. I've been moving my data library from Garmin Basecamp to MRA Routeplanner. When I usually load a MRA created route into Tread, I get two items in my collection, a route and a track.
Can anyone tell me what I may doing incorrectly in the attached file? When I load this file into Tread, I get two tracks???
Thank you,
Brett

Re: Garmin Tread App Question
Not helped by there being a Tread GPS device as well!LQQK_OUT wrote: Mon Jun 30, 2025 10:42 pm I've been reading a number of posts on this forum in regard to the general displeasure with the Garmin Tread application. Garmin do seem to like using the same name for different things as I can think of at least "Explore" as well.
I quite like Tread app for route planning, only when I use waypoints that I've already added from Basecamp, which Garmin will be horrified to hear I'm sure. Tread app also has its use as the routing algorithms closely match the XT2's, just a pity they both manage to mess up badly shaping points in a lot of circumstances.
Sorry, not a clue on your duplicating route / track problem.

Re: Garmin Tread App Question
I think I see what the problem is. The Tread application doesn't seem to like a route that has more than 59 shaping points. I just did a quick test.
One route had (2) via points (start & end) and (59) shaping points and it was processed properly by the Tread application.
My second route had (2) via points (start & end) and (60) shaping points. Tread application did not process this correctly.
I'm done with Tread!

Re: Garmin Tread App Question
The Tread app has a mind of its own.
It doesn't care about the number of sharpening points, 1 or 6 or 60 makes no significant difference.
If the Tread app is of the opinion that the creator's wish is not important, I as the Tread app know better, then it awards the points completely independently of the creator's goals.
That's it.
@Garmin: Thanks for that
