Ok,
I think I have it fixed.
I had too many maps selected - ticked.
I had all these ticked - CN EUROPE NTU (FOURSQUARE), TOPO EUROPE CENTRAL, TOPO EAST & WEST, CN EU NTU (PARKOPEDIA), EUROPE DEM, CN EUROPE NTU (NORTH & SOUTH)
So I only have - CN Europe N & S and Foursquare selected now.
I do my usual - MRA - export - garmin-drive and the route transfers fine and saves as a trip.
I tested a few maps - and got the transfers but "failed on the trip transfer" possibly because the Foursquare (POI) was not there.
so will test again later, I delete files as I go and retest.
I don't have Foursquare loaded - I must have got rid of it during an experiment.
I have CN Europe NTU 2026.10 All North (and All South)
Topoactive PS, Europe Central, West and East.
Europe DEM
The NTU maps are navigable. DEM is the Digital Elevantion Map which gives you the 3d views.
Topactive contain navigable roads trails and walking paths and a load of other stuff derived from free Open Source Maps (OSM).
I have never know these interfere with the routing od the NTU maps, but its not a bad idea to untick them in MyMaps if you are having issues.
Mine are all ticked.
I'll upload 2026.20 and reinstall the link with Drive to my XT1 and 'spare' phone. See if I can reproduce the issue.
Franks comment about Trip Manager. is well worthy. I wasn't going to go into it but the XT1 displays some really annoying recalculation habits - which in unknown areas can be really confusing. There are a few tricks that you can carry out to make it behave itself. Using Trip Manager is one of these.
But your route should load anyway regardless of anything else.
Check you avoidances as has already been mentioned.
I'll set off Express downloading the latest maps.
Have owned Zumo 550, 660 == Now have Zumo XT2, XT, 595, 590, Headache
Use Basecamp (mainly), MyRouteApp (sometimes), Competent with Tread for XT2, Can use Explore for XT - but it offers nothing that I want !
