New unit charging

Post by Stevef »

Hi all,
I've just unboxed my new Zumo XT and obviously it has zero charge in the battery. My question is, how long do I need to leave it before I can switch it on to check it's functioning? My previous experience is limited to Tom Toms, which will switch on as soon as power is connected. With this Zumo, I switch on and I get a white bar at the bottom of the screen which starts going black from the left until it reaches about 25% black and 75% white, at which point the display goes off. I've not had it on charge for long- maybe 15 mins and would like to know whether I need to wait a couple of hours or could the unit be a dud?

Several hrs minimum. Most folks just leave it plugged in overnight.
