My approach, when possible, is to keep the downloaded program for at least two version back. I do this with every program that allows me to download the entire program and not just a stub that downloads the current version. It it pretty common for me to uninstall the newest version and reinstall a previous one when the "latest and greatest" is buggy or I don't like the changes. IIRC, GE always downloads as "GarminExpress.exe" but it is a full version so renaming it as a filename that includes the version number works for the purpose of re-installation (I use GE_<version>.exe, like GE_7.24.0.0.exe). Garmin does not disclose the version being downloaded so checking the file properties of the download must be done to determine its version.

The only GarminExpress.exe on my PC is five years old. I'm running 7.24.0.0 but have no idea where the installation file is.

for GE 7.23.0.0 try this link, it might be an installation file, run a malware scanner on your computer after downloading it just to be safe, I am very cautious of getting malware viruses lol I am so paranoid 8-)

When I become aware of a new GE version I have always downloaded the new version and then installed if from the downloaded but this comment indicates that there is an upgrade process that does an in-place upgrade, likely downloading the installation file to a temp location and executing it to do the upgrade.
