logouts happening shortly after logging in
Is anyone else experiencing logouts shortly after logging in? I am not talking about the ones that happen after a significant period of inactivity. Mine are occurring randomly within a few minutes of logging in. It manifests itself like this:
- I login
- I access Quick links > Unread posts
- I visit a post and create a response
- On clicking Submit I am prompted to login.
This happens just frequently enough to be annoying. It started happening about a week ago. I have not been able to identify anything unique about when it happens.

sounds like a cookie problem
Click the delete cookies in the bottom right of the forum close the browser and try again
I always tick the box to keep me logged in and never have any issues
Let me know how you get on

This is a tough one for me. Typing the password the hitting enter is automatic, even when I'm thinking not to, my fingers do it anyways. I'm working on it though, as I type this without "Remember me" enabled.Stu wrote: Sun Mar 02, 2025 5:53 pmI always tick the box to keep me logged in and never have any issues

Yes tick the box before you login and it will keep you logged in
Just don't forget your password for future use if you ever have to login again

Re: logouts happening shortly after logging in
This implies that future logins are not required but that is not the case for me, which I'm OK with if it prevents auto-logoff.Stu wrote: Tue Mar 04, 2025 3:08 pm Yes tick the box before you login and it will keep you logged in

I wonder if my browser's tracker blocking or my script blocking extension are the cause of it not sticking. That's not important. I avoid auto-logins so am only hoping to stay logged in until I choose to log out.

It will be anything that blocks cookies that will stop the auto login from working
Once you tick the box then enter your details then click login then it should automatically log you in when you next visit

Re: logouts happening shortly after logging in
Ya it must be a cookies problem. Because to test my login, I exited, then changed my IP address to Perth Australia, and then tried to connect to Zumo forums, I got connected immediately as usual, I got signed in automatically, which proves that the signin is not an IP adddress issue. must be a cookies issue on the computer.

Re: logouts happening shortly after logging in
To be clear, my problem did not appear associated with auto-login or the automatic timeout of a login when the 'keep me logged in' box is not ticked. My logouts were happening within just a few of minutes of logging in. Clearing the cookies fixed the issue.
I learned early on that I will be automatically logged out after a period of inactivity. That is common on sites where security is of concern but I was surprised by it here. I'm fine with it after learning of the behavior. I don't do auto-login.

Re: logouts happening shortly after logging in
I was working on a long reply yesterday and lost it all due to being automatically logged out. This morning when I logged in I intended to tick the 'keep me logged in' option but I no longer see such an option. What am I missing? I don't want auto-login enabled.
This is a different issue from my initial post. That issue was logging me out within a couple of minutes whereas what happened yesterday was much longer. I have deleted cookies and reloaded the site but my sense is that this won't help with the auto-logout after x minutes. Thoughts @Stu ?
