Map Errors - Can’t Report

Post by MSTOCK27370 »

Out for a ride today, and got an unexpected suggestion to turn off the road I was traveling. It was a new import of a route onto the new 2024.1 map. So, I ignored the turn and continued on the road that I knew was the right way. Figured that I might have screwed up the route when making it yesterday.

At home now I couldn’t get the route to follow the route I wanted. Looking closer I see that a small portion of the road is GONE from the map. I just traveled it, and the road is still there. I tried to get to the Garmin web page to report a map error but the link doesn’t work. It seems like Garmin no longer accepts map error reporting.

Anyone heard anything about this? How do you get an obvious map error fixed?

I’m happy to report that I received a response from Garmin today. They confirmed the error that I reported in the map - a portion of a road is missing- and they submitted the error to their map provider. Three weeks from the time I reported the error.

I have no idea how long it will take for the correction to appear in a map release, but this gave me a little comfort. :D

I just noticed a similar map error. The road is gone, but it was there on the previous map version and it's there on Google maps. Obviously causes problems with the route I wanted to take.

Yeah. I was on a route that I knew and got a turn approaching that I wasn’t expecting. I just continued straight. It wasn’t until I did some investigating later that the missing portion of the road appeared on my map in BaseCamp.
