How to use a 590 (from the USA), when traveling in Europe -question

Post by Iris »

My husband and I will be traveling in Europe.
We have two 590’s. One will be used as a backup in case the other gps dies (or whatever).
I have purchased sm cards of the EU maps. I have done all my planning of routes in BaseCamp.
When the time comes to import all the routes, where do I load them? Do I load them into my internal drive or try to load them on the sm card?
Once they are loaded in, how do I activate the route?
I think I remember someone telling me to go into the maps on my 590 and deactivate the USA maps before we go to Europe.

Currently I just load my routes and tracks into my unit’s hard drive. That works fine here in the States.

Just do the same in the EU, no need to deselect the NA map. Routes can be placed in internal memory just like you always do.

Okay. That makes complete sense.
I was overthinking it.
