Basecamp crashes at load with Zumo550 attached

Hi,
In the last few weeks if I try to load Basecamp (under Windows 10) with my Zumo550 connected via USB, then Basecamp crashes.
The Zumo 550 works fine when on my bike or just under battery power
Basecamp works fine with my Zumo395 connected.
Basecamp works fine with nothing connected
So it seems like it has stopped liking the 550 - which incidentally has worked fine with Basecamp over several years previously.
Any suggestions ?
