Re: Is a Windows XP machine able to download maps?
Another way for those that don't want to go through this process is use Express to download the map to your mac (or PC) then use BaseCamp or MapInstall to install the map. See this FAQ https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=WIFhf0pGvIAJUbK9WunKa7&searchType=noProduct I did try to do that once an...

Re: Is a Windows XP machine able to download maps?
Here is how to update the maps on a Zumo 550 with lifetime maps. It requires an SD Card (I used an 8 gig card) and access to a computer with Garmin Express loaded and two USB connections so you can connect both the Zumo and the 8 gig card. Garmin Express should not be "active" when you sta...

Re: Is a Windows XP machine able to download maps?
Couple of things. I have not looked to see if it is posted here but in my next post I will provide the process I recently used to update my 550 to Garmin Maps 2019.20 on my MAC. Second thing is that I too switched to MACs about six years or so ago. And while I still use my Windows XP Laptop (just on...

Music Organization (Folders or Not)
On my 2820 and my then my 550, it was said I should keep the music (MP3 files) in separate folders to speed up the boot process. So, I have always keep them in folders. Now, I'd like to just load the music into the MP3 folder with out subdividing folders. Has anyone tried that and if so, how does it...

Re: 550 Repairs
I had my 550's buttons repaired by him a few months ago. It is working as good as ever. Also had the internal battery replaced. I'd recommend him.

Re: Going back from a Zumo 395 to Zumo 660
I too looked for a backup 660. Stupid prices. Anywhere from $700 to $1000. Cdn. That would be about $100 USD. Lol I would need to completely rewire if I re installed the 395. Total time is about 60 minutes for both. If I need to do a quickie change I have a Nuvi 750. 5 minutes. Can do a hook up wit...

Re: Zumo 550 Text to Speech
Hello; I have inherited a Zumo 550 which I have updated to the current maps. I also installed the English TTS languages. When I select a TTS language I get an icon on the screen that is the red lips however it has an “X” through it. Can this be resolved so that I can use TTS in my navigation? Devic...

Re: Going back from a Zumo 395 to Zumo 660
Thanks for the response. I just looked to see if you could actually purchase a 660 and did not find any. I have both the 665 and a 660 (which I purchased as a backup). Use the 665 mostly. I was taking a long trip a couple of years ago and thought to myself, Ok, what if the 665 fails while on this tr...
