Re: WARNING - Garmin Zumo XT hot-shoe connector weakness

Most phones will fail when used on a motorcycle, especially off road due to the vibration. Indeed, not to mention that they frequently overheat in sunnier places like where I live and the visibility of the phone screens are also not the best. Been there, done that, there is simply no substitute for...

Re: Locking on mount doesn't feel like its latching right

Sounds like you got the second batch of mounts, the replacement for the sloppy, less secure ones the XT was released with. I got my original one replaced and feels just like you describe it. Seems to lock securely though, I had no problems over a considerable amount of riding since it was changed.

Re: Gravel and Dirt Roads - How to Tell?

Does no one care if a road is paved when looking at a map besides me? Does everyone just let the machine tell them where to go? Many care, especially those of us on road bikes. I don't know how you do your planning, but that's where the "care" happens. Many here use Basecamp. On that I ca...

Re: Zumolock for XT

Go for it John, if I need to buy the RAM lock separate, given my location it's the same to buy it here, just need to wait a couple of weeks.

Re: Zumolock for XT

Bottom of page on that link they list what comes with it. That includes the RAM lock, the nut replacement for the mount adjustment wingnut, so it cannot be stolen easily by undoing the RAM joint.

I don't need anything else for it, but the RAM lock nut is important.

Re: Zumolock for XT

Is that complete with RAM lock? If it is would you post to Australia? I am happy to pay for the postage difference for a method that requires signature.

Re: Conspiracy Theory (Price Drop)

It took a LOT of years for the XT to come out after the 595. I don't think there is any update anywhere in the pipeline. I think you are spot on with the assumption that due to your riding season ending, they try to flog a few more units.

Re: Dilemma

The 590/595 had issues too (battery connector anyone?), but the screen alone makes everything insignificant with the XT. A bit lighter too. A bit cheaper as well. Oh, did I mention the screen? I sold my 595 once I ordered the XT, the difference in price left me about 200 AUD out of pocket. Well wort...

Re: Sound Issues - Sena Neotec 2

I had the Schuberth version of the Sena unit you use, connected to an iPhone 11 and a 595. The clarity problem was the Sena unit. I had to change to a Cardo Freecom 4+ setup to get rid of that problem. The Sena is a 5 year old design, hence the compatibility issues. Good luck.
