Re: Garmin ZUmo 550 Extra Icons?

Hi, The Garmin speed camera warnings only trigger if you are in danger of being tagged. i.e. you are approaching from the side of the camera which will register your speed and take appropriate action. Any other time it will ignore them. Most of the other Camera warnings trigger as you approach them ...

Change in Map Type for Older devices?

Hello everyone, I guess I am being a bit slow. A while back my Navigator IV (Zumo 660) received an update. From what was installed on the computer, it appears that it has gone from the NT 2019.10 to the NTU 2019.20 Am I going crazy, (or it did not install to the computer as requested) or the maps ha...

Re: Hi

Hi welcome to the forum Jim, As has been said before BaseCamp is a royal Pain in the nether regions, but once you have it understood. You can easily design routes make all sorts of plans etc. Also there are no stupid questions, just stupid answers. Ask away, someone will know something - everyone kn...

Re: Wired / Wireless Intercoms?

Hi Pete, Thanks for the additional information. I would seriously consider Chainspeed, however the cost of getting there and back which has to be included within the calculation probably does not allow me to order the unit from them. I would want it fitted professionally. The Belgian distributor (ht...

Re: Zumo 595 thoughts after 1500km (1000 mile tour)

I hope you have better luck with the 595 So far it has proved to be pretty reliable, other than the IDtenT error :D . However I can't complain that the machine doesn't realise that I want the autozoom to work! It would be nice to have the autozoom levels to be hardcoded so you can select them at th...

Re: Zumo 595 thoughts after 1500km (1000 mile tour)

I would say your 396 was definitely faulty as the sensitivity on my 346 is spot on The 396 developed a very annoying habit of suddenly becoming silent. No noises, clicks or announcements. The first time it happened was when my wife was in Germany doing a bit of shopping. No problem there, but she h...

Re: Wired / Wireless Intercoms?

... An Autocom system is pricey but I still have it on my ST1300 which was originally installed in 2007. It still works. Yes, it is pricey, they always have been. Over 25 years ago I bought an Autocom unit that was battery powered. My then girlfriend had the bag to mount it, and we had to be very c...

Re: Zumo 595 thoughts after 1500km (1000 mile tour)

There are some bad points I noticed. Whereas the 396 Bluetooth function worked without issue, the 595 does have issues. I have unpaired the smartphone as it caused the connection to the headset to be dropped on a regular basis. It still drops, but at a significantly lesser rate. This could be that ...

Zumo 595 thoughts after 1500km (1000 mile tour)

Hi everyone. I recently switched from a BMW Navigator IV (Zumo 660) to a Zumo 595 via the 396, here are my thoughts based on a 1500km (1000 mile) trip. As with most things it is not easy to say it is good / bad. There are a number of things which Garmin have done nicely, and others where you say &qu...
