Re: New Firmware

I updated to 5.9 and now I don’t see the red and white compass needle and the map scale beneath it. If I pan the map it shows. But returning to the main map, nothing. It used to show up in the upper right but panning it would move to lower left and sometimes upper left. I like seeing the numerical s...

Re: Zumo XT not starting

Good to hear. I just this minute got mine out to compare how it starts up and charges so I could comment. When I got mine the battery wouldn’t charge all the way even after several hours. I read something in the manual that suggested I plug it in then put it in sleep mode instead of turning it off. ...

Re: XT mount accidentally unlocking during ride

I think Ram Mount- “Ram Tether” around $4 USD is the spiderweb rubber thing mentioned above that works to hold it. Someone posted on this forum or maybe elsewhere. Others epoxy a clip used for running zip ties then attaching a tether. I have neither and while not actual off-road, I’ve been on some r...

Re: Locking on mount doesn't feel like its latching right

I got mine somewhere around June. I can’t recall if it has a resounding click or not but, it doesn’t budge. I always give it a good yank after installing. No issues yet. Someone suggested using a Ram X-Grip Tether. It’s just the rubber spiderweb. Saw a pic with an XT and it doesn’t interfere with th...

Re: XT Does Not Pass Rain Test

Back in June I reported being in some heavy rain with no issues. Since then I’ve been in rain several more times, still with no issues. No screen protector.

Re: Sd Card in XT

I’ve also read that it has to be formatted as FAT32, and not anything else like XFAT, etc. And, the manual says the max size is 64 GB. Some have had luck with larger but no guarantee.

Re: Locking device for the XT

I think that looks like a great solution for those who feel they need a tether. I was concerned the rubber straps would cover the corners of the screen but, it looks fine. And unlike a tether you don’t have to glue anything to the back of the XT.

Yes, it’s that easy. In my pocket it goes when I’m out of sight of my bike so, no need to worry about villains.

Re: Trip Planner - intermediate locations - what's the point?!

Curious, I created a route in Trip Planner. Present location to a hotel. Then I added a gas station, and then a restaurant. It did not give me any warning message as you describe but made the route including the two intermediate stops. I wonder if your added stops were somehow different than my sear...

Re: Roads closed - they're not

I’ve found it to be helpful and mostly accurate with some exceptions. I’m not sure how and by whom the data gets assembled and updated but Garmin’s site says: “Traffic alerts come from a traffic data collection system that analyzes traffic flow data collected from more than 2 billion observation poi...
