Re: Zumo 595 Map Location
Will the 595 behave the same way as the 550 with respect to a supplemental map only? The 595 appears to be about and 8gB device with about 1 gB free. I cannot find any entry in the directories that appears to be the map image file. Is it being hidden from the operating system? Yes, the map is hidde...

Re: Zumo 595 Map Location
Russ, Thank you for the reply. One of the "advantages" to my way of thinking about it is to be able to swap SD cards and have another continent available for use. North America versus Europe. Once installed, no muss, no fuss. My loss of history in the early days was extremely disappointing...

Zumo 595 Map Location
I posted elsewhere recently regarding “route corruption” when using my Zumo 550 and work done in BaseCamp. I have since decided to retire the 550 and bought a 595LM. One of the things I learned from this community, the “old one”, was how to have the map reside on the SD card and free up internal mem...

Re: 550 re-routing
Gentlemen, Thank you for the input. I never knew that BaseCamp was not recommended. I bought the 550 in 2006 or 2007. When BaseCamp hit, I was so happy to dump Windows. The 550 was the only thing that I needed Windows for. I was a user on the old site, too. I never came across the BaseCamp-older Zum...

Re: 550 re-routing
Perhaps try doing it differently: instead of dragging the route, try using the insert and move editing tools. Dragging the route to modify it creates problems with the 595 too, requiring excessive shaping points to keep the route where I want it to be. It's just quirky that way. There has been a lo...

Re: 550 re-routing
To me, that seems to say "if you want to use MacOS, don't bother looking at Garmin". What am I missing? I've been using BaseCamp for years without apparent trouble. Maybe the complexity of road choices and my lack of familiarity of the environment finally illustrated the shortcoming. What ...

Re: Data or Map Corruption
The broken version of MapInstall won't affect what Express has installed on your PC. I assumed the detail was missing in BaseCamp, and that will vary dependant on what detail setting you have set there, but from what you now say it's map detail missing on your Zumo? If you sent the map to your Zumo...

Re: Data or Map Corruption
What map detail setting are you using in BaseCamp? If both are using the same maps you will see the same detail if the BC setting is at Highest. Your link by the way is to this thread. I have looked at the detail settings. I am not sure I understand your comment. If BC detail is turned down and the...
