Re: Shaping point always alert

Shaping points I described as being created by placing them directly on intersections do have some issues. The issues come about because the point characteristics that cause them to not be announced is tied to the underlying map data. The info comes from the map not the gpx file. This often caused i...

Re: Shaping point always alert

If you place your points directly in an intersection, or on a section of road that does not have street addresses, the points will not announce. These are different from shaping points created in Basecamp though.

Re: Have a 2012 Goldwing listen to music from the Aux on my 590

The XT only has bluetooth out no cable. So you would need to connect a bluetooth dongle to the Wing's aux input. I purchased one from Amazon for $16 but Electrical Connection also sells one with and one without a ground loop isolator. Also, the XT can recognize 5,000 songs. https://www.amazon.com/gp...

Re: PONI killer application

Hello, I have been a long time Zumo user. I currently use the 660 on my RSTD. Recently I have started creating my own routes for scenic rides around Southern Ontario Canada. And I have encountered an issue I remember from my days at the old zumo forums site. When drawing/shaping routes, it creates ...

That doesn't apply to the 660. Only newer units using the Tripplaner routing will utilize that info.

Re: Adding POI's

The way to have Custom POIs in categories on your GPS starts with organizing the POIs into separate files on your computer before using POI Loader to compile the POI file for your device, then using POI Loader to compile the entire file structure. By way of example: I have a folder on my computer I ...

Re: Zumo 595GPX bluetooth transfer to BMW Navigator

Yes, I do it frequently when on trips with a few friends each year. I do all the route planning and send the route to their NAV V and NAV VIs each morning.

But you cannot transfer files to you phone or any other kind of device via bluetooth. The new Zumo XT model has that ability.

Just to clarify this a little, the link to all the GPS articles on the NER website is: https://www.newenglandriders.org/category/gps/ This is where you will find the write-up on accessing Basecamp Library from multiple computers. The Basecamp tutorials are located at: https://www.newenglandriders.or...

I just went in to my firewall and changed a setting to deny Basecamp access to the internet.

Re: How near to via point?

I seem to recall it's 30 meters. That, said the best way to deal with this is to place the via point on the road at the entrance to the park and place a shaping point at the precise spot.
