Re: Where I've Been App

Tracks are retained until the XT decides that it needs to get rid of them. With earlier Zumos this used to be when it had used up all of the 20 files that it uses for storage. They are numbered files in the folder Gpx/Archive. They still are. I have read that it now keeps them for a few months (3 ri...

Re: Making Track visible on the Map

It IS possible to show tracks on the map if you have Explore enabled on the XT. But it does it differently. Instead of selecting each route in turn and turning 'show on map' on or off, Explore uses something called 'Collections'. All Items in a collection can be turned on and off in one operation. S...

Re: Faster vs Fastest

It can take at least one well placed route point between every connecting road. Place a route point too far ahead and Basecamp will route you on the faster road, divert off of it and backtrack to that route point, u-turn, then continue to the next route point. Still, it is better than the XT. You c...

Re: Faster vs Fastest

I have a 'theory' about the XT's Faster Time Algorithm. This is just an idea. I haven't seen it fall over yet, but I haven't done much riding recently. if there is a faster road nearby which can be used to get you to the next route point, it will head for the faster road If the faster road is closer...

Re: Good Morning from Dorset, UK

Thank you for the welcome and advice, it was one of your helpful posts on UKGSER which led me here! I haven't been on UKGSER for a while - I don't own a GS - I intrude occasionally. There are a few members that also belong to another forum and raised issues concerning the Nav V and Nav Vi which are...

Re: Zumo XT and Basecamp - Everything That You Need to Know

Welcome to the forum John.

Thanks for the comment

I do have my own pdf version, but it is not up to date and I am not prepared to let it out. The online version is what I use - I keep it updated when new info becomes available.

Re: How to display custom POIs on the map

On the XT the Custom POI option in Categories - is only listed if you have created you own POIs. On the XT. Down at the bottom of the Categories list there is a black banner that says 'Other Categories'. If you have created your own Custom Categories, then your category will appear here. If not it s...

Yes, that's identical.

Thats why you don't have any renaming issues !

Re: Please remind me how to do optional POI

The route point rename issue has never been one for me. I have almost always created my routes by first dropping waypoints where I want to go. Can I ask what you mean by ''dropping a waypoint' ? I create and name a few Waypoints when planning a ride. They are saved and appear in BC's lower left win...

Re: How to display custom POIs on the map

Useful information Sean OZ - but I think that you are talking about Waypoints. The Explore /Tread database does not cater for Custom POIs - unless Garmin have changed their terminology for the XT2 software. For Garmin, a POI is not the same as a Waypoint. I did wonder when I read the OP's original p...
