Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

I'm not sure what any of that has to do with the fact that routes are limited to 29 VIA points, a beginning point and a destination point, which was what I was trying to point out.

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

For @jfheath The maximum value of 29 isn't entirely correct. The satnav says that it 'nnnnn has more than 29 Via points. Route was split into 9 trips'. But if you create a route with 31 Via points, it will accept that without splitting it. Ditto 30 points. 31 is the absolute limit for the number of...

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

Re: Zumo XT section

By far the two most common complaints about the 590 and 595 were that the screen sucked and the price was exorbitant. Garmin was obviously listening. Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

" One negative over the 595 is that you cannot individually enable/disable tracks to show on the map. You can only change the colours of the tracks. All tracks present in the GPX folder will show on the map ." This is true if you've connected to Garmin Explore. But with a device that has n...

Re: Test voices

Just to clarify what I think Yorky is pointing out, newer Garmin gps's have the ability to use voices with what Garmin refers to as Real Directions (TTS3 format). Real Direction voices will not only speak street names but also landmarks. So what you might hear from the older voices would be "In...

Re: waypoints

You can use custom POI icons that you load thrrough POI Loader along with the POI file. You can also use custom audio alerts. I would suggest you visit POI Factory http://www.poi-factory.com/ register, and go to the learning section to learn how to create and use custom POI icons and audio alerts. S...

What sussamb said. Or Use the pull down menu: View / Align North Up.

I seem to do this more frequently than I like when I'm using the track pad on my laptop instead of a mouse.
