Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
My last install of maps to my PC (Win10 21H1) resulted in locked maps. I found that the maps were unlocked for the PC Admin user though. I deduced that "run as administrator" did the map install as the Admin user, unlocking the maps only for the Admin user. My solution was to temporarily ...

Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
Well the next step I'd try is to remove both those folders and try the map install. I've seen posts about files in those folders being corrupted and then preventing an update installing correctly. First though see if you can uninstall those folders using the normal Windows uninstall feature via Con...

Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
Hmmm ... not sure why that would happen unless you exited without saving. Having got that setting to 'stick' you do need to run Express again to install the map correctly. Morning, My mistake, the read only boxes were already unchecked, the coloured in box did not mean active as I discovered this m...

Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
I had an issue recently after a Windows update changed permissions on some folders to read only. Check your Garmin folders to ensure they're set to read and write so Express can access them. Thanks for answering quickly as usual. I've gone through the folders in Programdata\Garmin\Maps and unchecke...

Re: Easy solution to install City Navigator maps on PC/Mac
Hoping this will work.I will try after Xmas. I posted this elsewhere before I found this: I have just replaced my old faithful Zumo 660 with a new Zumo XT after 11 years of faultless service, and was really looking forward to it. When I select install maps to the computer it goes through the whole p...

Can't load maps!
I have just replaced my old faithful Zumo 660 with a new Zumo XT after 11 years of faultless service, and was really looking forward to it. When I select install maps to the computer it goes through the whole process (100%) then a banner shows 'map update failed' (at least a dozen times). However, w...

Re: CN EU 2021.20 NT
Thanks for answering as usual.
I have discovered how to delete them from the PC using Control Panel However, I haven't found hw to delete them from the 660. It isn't obvious which are the map files old or new.

Re: Version 7.4.2.0 Released
I have just installed the new GE and the new Europe maps. Although I had the options of installing on device and PC, there was not an option to load onto a SD card that would have helped with the space issue.

Re: CN EU 2021.20 NT
Hi
Hope all are well.
Just loaded the new maps onto my 660, but the old version is still on the unit for some reason. How do I remove the old maps as they must be taking up space as Express was telling me I had limited room for the new maps?
Many Thanks
Steve P

Re: Base Camp and Google Earth - again
Hi sussamb Still using BaseCamp 4.6.2 as you suggested before and it still does the job linking with GE 7.1.8.3036 . Like you I use this to look at detailed locations on my route, but at the moment can only zoom in so far then no further. To get detailed view of a point I select point in BaseCamp th...
