Re: a suitable carry case or alternative?

Hi all, New to this forum, already found some useful tips on the SD card and getting a tether, etc. so Thank You so far! Did a search but could not find any tips or alternatives to the Garmin Carry case on here? I am not really keen on the whole locking thing as yet and feel that removing it and ca...

Re: Zumo XT not following route

Here is an example of what I was talking about with different maps in MRA. The black route is what I created using Here (Garmin). The red is what the TomTom map would want to do. Screen Shot 2022-02-14 at 8.42.25 am.png Edit: Just to clarify. If I had planned the route in MRA using the TomTom map th...

Re: Zumo XT not following route

or it could be to do with slightly mis-placed points on the map - That is a good point. I usually zoom right in on maps after I have created a route to make sure all the waypoints are actually on the road not near the road. I have had a couple of instances with GPS where I get into loops going arou...

Re: XT locking device

You are correct in what you say, although Ram offer a security 'wheel' to replace the thumb wheel. Personally I would not recommend using a Ram mount as it is something else to vibrate / move and put the unit out of the ideal position. My TT mount is bolted firmly to the bike. My Ram mounted Zumo m...

Re: Zumo XT not following route

I just looked at two recent routes I have done in MRA. 1. 393km - 29 waypoints 2. 318km - 18 waypoints The difference is that on 1 there were many more roads going in different directions along the route and as a rule I ensure that I force the GPS to follow the route I want by putting plenty of wayp...

Re: XT locking device

I have ridden on dirt roads so rough that over time my Ram mount has drooped a little despite being tightened with a shifter (to stop people with light fingers removing it) but the GPS has never come loose in its factory holder and I don't expect it will. Often with this sort of situation one person...

Re: Latest XT Motorbike Lockable Mount options

If you use RAM mounts to attach the Zumo holder to the bike none of these locks will be any good unless you also put a lock on the RAM mount. I saw the Touratech mount on a bike yesterday and like all Touratech products it is beautifully engineered but probably overkill for its intended purpose. Of ...

Re: USB Power lead for motorbike mount

Just get a Thunder Box or any of the other power distribution products available and wire the Garmin input cable into that, https://www.healtech-electronics.com/products/tb/ Thunder Box are my new power distribution products of choice they are so simple to use. BTW I'm sure that the power cable I go...

Re: Temperature units

Just for interest I changed my phone to read F in case the XT was picking the temperature settings up from the phone. The XT continued to read in C.
