Re: Routes (SD card or XT )

You will still be able to transfer files to the XT in the same way you have in the past (A Mac makes this a little more complex because the XT in an Android based device - and they don't play well with Apple devices). The tricky part is how the XT handles waypoints and custom icons and displays them...

Re: Routes (SD card or XT )

In my experience, the Zumo XT does not handle waypoints and custom icons like any other Garmin Product I have owned (GPSMap60csx, Zumo 660). I was incredibly frustrated to find that when I created a "track" in basecamp and exported the GPX file to my Zumo XT, the waypoints and their custom...

Re: Updating maps and software

I've completed all of my updates via wifi on my home network. I have Fiber optic high speed internet connection and mesh wifi, so it was pretty quick. Zero issues with updates that way. But, then I have to update basecamp, so I don't know that I save any time... LOL

Re: Not loving the car mount

Dating back to when I had a Zumo 660, I have always purchased an extra motorcycle mount for use in my vehicles and just click it into the mount when I get in the car/truck. I really dislike messing with cables. With the Zumo 660, I used a RAM Mount suction cup because I found that the stock auto mou...

Re: Suggested reading, please

jfheath has a great solution as well. All depends on what you prefer and what is most common for your riding partners... I prefer tracks over routes because much of what I do involves off-road sections that a route will not allow because it is on non-navigable paths... Preference for Wireless Trans...

Re: Suggested reading, please

I would suggest avoiding routes all together... If... you are like me and use the GPS to follow a preplanned path of travel that you have meticulously created and you don't want the GPS to decide what roads you take... Make sure you have Recalculation turned off on your XT Create a "Track(s)&qu...

Re: Congestion Charging Zones

This seems like the opposite strategy to employ if the goal is to increase the use of the express lanes during times of heavier congestion. Reducing the price of a good or service is the way to increase it's use, not raising it. This is simple price gouging at it's finest. When you are in a worse si...

Re: XT Mounted on Road Tech 660 Mount?

Part G in your drawing is what I am assuming you are calling the mount, not the Garmin Specific Cradle.

If so, then yes... All Garmin Mounts/Cradles utilize the standard AMPS Mounting Bolt Spacing, so the XT Cradle will bolt up to part G in your diagram.

Re: Help Please - XT Archive Folder Contents.

@jfheath In looking at my XT I see a total of 11 unsaved tracks listed.
First track is dated September 16, 2022.
Last track is dated December 30, 2022.

When looking at the file structure using Android File Transfer, in the GPX>Archive folder I only see:
16.GPX
17.GPX
18.GPX
