Re: Suggested reading, please
My simple rule is to turn off the XT's recalculation altogether. If I make a wrong turn, or have to detour, I simply zoom out and decide on the best way to rejoin my route. That way I don't have to bother with tracks, just routes.

Re: Newbie from France
Nice part of the country. We loved our week in Dinan, hated the crowds on Mont-Saint-Michel, got sunburnt on the Plage de Lourtuais!

Re: Displaying multiple POIs
Is your problem just on the mapping software or in your Zumo as well? Just in Basecamp. In Basecamp there are a number of options in Edit / Options / Display that can change the amount if info that is displayed, including labels and font size. Enlarging the symbols did the job nicely, thanks.

Re: Why do you use a dedicated sat-nav
There's no way I'd subject my phone to vibrations and rain by mounting it on the bike, no matter how wonderful the mount is alleged to be. And trying to play with the screen wearing winter gloves strikes me as a singularly fruitless pastime!

Re: Displaying multiple POIs
The POIs are actually waypoints set in Basecamp using the red flag. Perhaps I'm being too fussy, or missing something, but the result with detail set at its lowest level is this. https://www.colinandpat.co.uk/Germany_lowest.jpg Increase the detail to low and the road numbers disappear and airports a...

Displaying multiple POIs
I'm planning a route from IJmuiden to Austria, to take several days. In order to have a look at my various options I would like to display all 30+ POIs I have of various towns to see or hotels to visit on the way. If I use Basecamp, even at the lowest level of detail, the road numbers dominate the m...

Re: Is there a way to search a Basecamp Library?
If you double click a waypoint or route or right click and selecte properties - to open up the properties dialogue box, and then click the 'References' tab - you get an image like the one attached, listing all of the location that point is used. You can then click on the item to display the list or...

Re: Is there a way to search a Basecamp Library?
Thanks, John. Re the last part - I can't see where to see what other lists the waypoint appears in, if that's what you meant, but hovering over, or clicking on, the waypoint in the map yields a list of all the routes in which that waypoint features. That's a new one on me, and useful!
