I have had this issue before too!

I purposefully went off route and it was trying to send me in all sorts of directions yet the route I was heading was the best way to go and only when I was almost back on track did it then tell me to continue the way i was already going

I tried it a few years ago and while the idea is good it seemed to see every single turning as an option to take which resulted in so stupid routes on "roads" you wouldn't take a 4x4 down

It may have improved over the years though

Yes around that area should be fine if it doesn't work then move it closer to the corner

Most of the time with issues like this a factory reset sorts it out

I would also try connecting it to a computer and using garmin express to re install the update

As in the destination is wrong or the navigation is not working

Maybe as many people as possible need to contact them and complain its a stupid thing to do they may change it
