Agreed. That really is the simple solution and will make every future update simple too

@twowheelstom

You can check this yourself. The junction view file is a separate file named *.jcv and will be in the JCV folder on your device. The * will match the name of the map file on your device and the dates/times will also match. It isn't sent if you use MapInstall.

It’s well documented elsewhere on the forum.
Yep, your 660 is an older device where MapInstall is a suitable option.

Re: CN NA 2024.20

I know exactly what it's for but it's an old program that should really only be used on older devices. Express installs more than just the map on more modern devices, if you use MapInstall instead then you will lose things like Junction View.

Re: CN NA 2024.20

No, as far as I'm aware if there is space the full map is installed but that really shouldn't be an issue. If you really want a smaller section you could try adding additional files to fill up the memory so Express is forced to offer a smaller region, but note it will only be from a select few, you ...

Re: CN NA 2024.20

Major file that you lose by sending a map from your PC is the junction view etc file, plus some smaller files that you probably won't realise haven't been updated

Re: CN NA 2024.20

Just be aware that installing the map from your PC to your Zumo doesn't install all the other files that Express does when it does a so called 'map' update. Better if you can update the device using Express

Use the search feature if you're not sure where to go. If nothing helps try the 340 forum

Re: XT Lifetime Map Updates

Pretty much every Garmin 'on the road' devices come with lifetime maps these days. As you're in Canada you'll need to check with local retailers but I'd be very surprised if it didn't

Re: 64gb sd card formatting

It isn't as simple as that. If you use Express to install an update to your device and then leave the files of that update alone Express will replace them when it next does an update. If however for whatever reason you rename them or move them then Express won't touch them.
