Re: XT in car, worth it?

What car-specific features are you referring to?

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

Strange that Garmin UK is behind the curve on delivering these things. I opted to get mine through Touratech, a company I seldom do business with. Touratech is a fairly large force in the ADV community and my impression is that they have a good connection with Garmin as a result. I thought they woul...

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

You're most welcome. I think that you can expect, if the example you gave is your practice, that the XT will import the route no matter how many via points you have and break it into routes that it can handle. My preference is to define a start point and endpoint and let Basecamp route it. Then I go...

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

I can get the XT to import a route that has up to 243 via points. It broke it into 9 trips. It seemed coincidental that your route had 244 via points, so I added 6 more to bring it to 250. Then I knocked off two to make it 248 and it imported it just fine, again splitting it into 9 trips. However, i...

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

Investigating further, I edited your road book to be only points 1 through 100. When I imported it, I got the following message: Transpyrenees 2020 100 has more than 29 via points. Route was split into 4 trips. I have to go out for a bit, but when I return I wll attempt to find out what number of po...

Re: zumo XT First (and continuing) impressions

I have road books that contain a starting point, several dozens of crossing points (some up to more than 100) and an arrival point...Classic. Example: this road book containing 250 steps elaborated with MapSource (http://www.wachter.fr/transpy2020/transpyrenees_2020.gpx) Question 1: Can it be loade...

Re: Zumo XT section

With its ability to update itself via WiFi, I suppose it is not out of the question that a TPMS app could be added at a later date. Perhaps if Garmin hears the demand they might respond, the better to sell the sensors.

Re: Zumo XT section

The lack of TPMS was not a concern for me, as my '12 R1200RT has this feature. It has proved itself useful, warning me that I had a puncture well before I could feel it. My KLR has tubes and 'leaks' tend to be fast and dramatic; TPMS is of limited utility when things go from 32psi to 0psi in five se...
