Re: Is my Zumo 550 now a paperweight
Thanks for the replies. Somehow I was able to get the darn thing working again with the older maps that were on the unit. I've got a ride of several hours planned for today and will again attempt to install updated maps at some time in the future. When that happens I will return here and let you kno...

Is my Zumo 550 now a paperweight
So I was in the process of updating the maps on my old Zumo 550 which has lifetime maps. It currently has 2021.2 maps on it and now I can't even open them. After I thought I was loading 2023.2 maps to the sd card I put the card in the Zumo and got the message "Maps not unlocked". Now I hav...

New to Zumo XT and soooo many questions
WOW! This whole thing of getting used to using a new Zumo XT and Basecamp sure is a challenge for a 75 year old that is accustomed to using a Zumo 550 with Mapsource. 1. I've got enough understanding of Basecamp that I can now plan a route and transfer it to my gps by plugging the Zumo into my pc. I...

Re: Low audio volume
Thanks for all the responses. After trying them all without success I contacted Chris Short at Palm Dr who repairs broken GPS units about this issue. He told me that the Zumo 550 sometimes needs to be taken apart and repaired internally for audio volume issues. He said he should be able to do this ...

Re: Low audio volume
I have to ask, just to eliminate them You have checked both the master and media volume levels on the Zumo, correct? The Zumo music and navigation volume are both set at 100 percent. You have not, by accident, pressed the mute button on the wings audio? No, the mute button has not been depressed. I...

Re: Low audio volume
I have the Zumo mounted on a 2010 Honda Goldwing. The audio is connected to the auxillary audio input of the bike. The audio is piped into my headset by way of EdSets helmet speakers. As I stated earlier, my other Zumo 550 works fine. It's just this one that seems to be a problem.

Low audio volume
I just purchased my third Zumo 550. I have my maps and music all stored on an SD card in the Zumo. Both of the other Zumo's will blast music so loud that I have to keep the volume down to less than 50 percent. On the Zumo I just purchased with the volume up all the way I can hardly hear the audio pr...

Re: Where are my maps?
MapSource reads the maps from your PC from the same location that BaseCamp does, so if BC is seeing them so should MS. The difference is that BC will also read them from your Zumo, so is it that difference you're seeing? Thanks for the response sussamb and sorry it took so long to reply. I've been ...

Where are my maps?
I'll try to make a long story short. The hard drive in my laptop crashed. After installing a new solid state hard drive I am in the process of reinstalling all my software. I now have Mapsource, Basecamp, Garmin Express and MapInstall loaded. I have updated the maps in my Zumo to 2020.1. The most re...

Re: GPS week number rollover event
"Issues could occur if: Receivers have been in operation for more than 10-15 years without firmware updates" So, have you not plugged your zumo into a computer sometime in the last decade to keep it current? "This situation won’t affect a receiver’s ability to navigate and/or calcula...
