I'd prefer something this side of the water given the choices to save on postage / import tax etc but thanks for the heads up.

Update to this. I got the screen replaced by a sat nav repair company. Works fine now so it must have been the screen or "digitiser" that was starting to fail.

Thanks, I had found the audible alerts, but its not these that are the problem. The visual alerts would not be an issue if they did not get "stuck" on the screen.
