Re: How to display custom POIs on the map
I've been away for a short while so could not come back to this. I have succeeded in making my own icons and having them show on the map. The spec says that these should be 24x24 - which is very riny on an XT screen. They should also alert as you get near, but so far I can only get them to alert whe...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Ok. So that isn't the issue then ! Not to worry, that is an excellent answer should anyone ask the right question.
Back to the square one. I'll see if I can reproduce the issue. I have tested this before and what I tried produced what I expected. But that might have been the problem ....

Re: Trip Planner Routes
I don't know if the original post (by burtsr was referring to Basecamp's Trip Planner App, or whether he was just importing gpx files into the Trip Planner app on the XT. We have covered that issue, but I think that you are using the Basecamp Trip Planner App - as you said Peobody ? For anyone else ...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
I think if other routes are involved, and these do not have a time/date then proximity of the first point to the current position is used to decide upon the order. This method is used for sorting Waypoints/Favourites - so the order is forever changing if you look at the list of favourites on differe...

Did you get anywhere with this issue?
Is there any evidence that it is trying to get you back to its original route first ?

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Sorry. I was talking about my 'trip' ie my holiday. My holiday consisted of a number of individual routes - one per day, usually with a couple of bad weather or fatigue alternatives. Sorry, I slipped into my own terminology, forgetting that 'Trip' had implications to Garmin devices. The start of eac...

Hi WolfkinTeeth , A very belated welcome to the forum. I'm sorry - I never spotted your post .... And thanks for your contribution. Re: Trip Planner Routes
@Peobody Very unlikely that changing the mimported byte has an effect. But to change it, you have to 'save' the trip file on the XT, thereby changing the file date. Maybe that has a side effct? I did wonder about that - not so much when changing the .trip file directly, because the date in question...

Re: Faster vs Fastest
Curvy Roads can be interesting to consider, but I think you need to add lots of via points to keep the route intact when transferred to a Zumo, which does not recognize Curvy Roads. I believe it will recalculate the route using whatever faster/shortest preference you have set on the GPS. It has bee...
