Thanks, I'll dig out my old Nuvi 360 and Zumo 220 and update them.

Re: 396 taking crazy routes on tiny backroads
I've seen some odd routing on my 396, I have set it to avoid toll roads, but twice in France a couple of weeks ago it tried to take me to the peage. I need to investigate further, but I think the car and bike mode avoidance preferences are independent and I wondering if planning in car mode and load...

Re: Waypoints, or Shaping points?
Well it should route according to the settings on your zumo, and take account therefore of any avoidance. My Zumo is set to avoid toll roads and not recalculate off route, however it decided to do both a couple of weeks ago in France... I hope they don't have cameras to catch U turners in front of ...

Re: CARDO PACKTALK BOLD DUO
There's four of us with Packtalks, we all find the radio will switch on what ever you say to it. We've found the best thing to do is switch off VOX! I agree with the comments about range, but it's not been a regular problem if you're riding as a group. As for volume levels, I mute Sat Nav instructio...

Re: CARDO PACKTALK BOLD DUO
Does everyone else have the phone paired on channel one, and the nav paired on channel 2? Yes, same here. Not sure what difference it makes but the phone pairing is slightly different to GPS, on PT there's an additional step where you turn the wheel forward after entering pairing mode on channel 2.

Re: CARDO PACKTALK BOLD DUO
I have always had my phone paired to the zumo but I have just paired it to both and phone calls show up on the zumo but are straight from the phone to the headset! Do you also have the Zumo paired to the Cardo? I'm guessing not as this will create a three device loop that will confuse them all :? N...

Re: CARDO PACKTALK BOLD DUO
Yes, that's the arrangement I had with my previous Zumo, both paired to PT, which also allows the PT to be controlled with the Cardo app.
I'll probably go back to this.
I quite liked the idea of controlling the phone via the Zumo.

Re: CARDO PACKTALK BOLD DUO
I've been using a Packtalk for a couple of years now, and find the bike to bike coms between four is brilliant. What I have problems with is with the Cardo app and Garmin app on my phone. I'd like to control the Packtalk with the Cardo app via the Garmin, and still have the Garmin on-line features, ...

Re: Staying with a pre-planned route
I have the same problem with taking deviations from pre-planned routes, there always seems to be a road closed or diversion in France... last time I switched off the auto recalculate and kept an eye on the general direction for where my route is on screen (zoom out if necessary) and head back to rej...
