I'm no Bluetooth expert, but would suggest trying to re-pair the 396 and the headset.
Have you tried to switch off the GPS receiver in the settings and then simulating the route, both with the 396 Bluetooth not connected, and with it connected?

Re: Zumo 396 no voice indications
How are you hoping to hear the instructions, bluetooth headset, or from the 396 internal speaker?

Re: Zumo XT mount & charging issues
I also have a charging issue when connected to mount, it goes straight to battery mode. If I connect via USB it charges. The mount is wired to an ignition live connector and the 3rd pin on the mount is showing 5.14v when ignition on. I went into the diagnostic screen (see below) and see that when p...

Re: Summary of tools to fix the trips on the XT
A couple of cons for the saving the active route on the XT are: 1) Definite - If you're not at the start of the route, and the XT knows where it is, then the starting point becomes your present location. Will mess up the distance / time to travel, but that sorts itself out once you start where the r...

Re: Java program to fix the routing behaviour of the XT.
I have downloaded JRE but installing it feels like jumping off the high diving board. I've made it to the end of the board but haven't built up the nerve to jump. If/when I do, do I understand correctly that java.exe should be used to run this program and not javaw.exe? I'm like you, so trued just ...

Re: Weird Routing Behaviour - Major Success.
I have a 590 and it gives no option to "save" a trip, even if you remove a "location" from an imported one. I also have a 396 and it does allow me to "save" a trip. Then it becomes a child of the original imported route, where in the "Imported trip's the trip name ...

Re: Weird Routing Behaviour - Success.
Great work by everyone, has anyone thought to see what happens if you have a saved route on the XT, change it from say "faster" to "shortest", then back again to fastest to see if it changes the attributes that makes the XT navigate sensibly? Or do you have to do the above shuffl...

When you're charging it, is it with a charger that gives out a couple of amps?

Re: So, who trusts their XT's navigation?
The definition of 'faster route' is pretty clear - it's the route that takes the least time to travel  The way Garmin approach it now means they should change the setting to 'Maybe faster route' :? I think that the "faster" means, use the fastest roads wherever possible even if it do...

Re: So, who trusts their XT's navigation?
I wonder if the XT2 has improved the raison d'etre of a sat nav, or just made it even more problematic?
