I had issues also with my XT, and I tracked it down to the BMW aux power plug that I was using, and rough roads would give it an intermittent connection.

IIRC if you make a change then BaseCamp applies it to all routes automatically. Yes, if you change a profile, all routes that use the changed profile will be recalculated. The option to "install to pc" was not available until after the map was updated/installed to the XT 1st.

Interesting... I show 25+ available on mine with 5 different 'British' variants.. You can connect your XT to a PC, then look at the "voice" folder of the internal storage to see if you have any files in that folder. I'm betting that if you have a refurb, it was completely wiped, and appare...

Short of purchasing the map file from Garmin, you do have the option of OSM(Open Street Maps) maps, and they are free... HOWEVER.... they don't have the same address search database, so searching by an address may not work.

Like was mentioned by sussamb, divided highways cause issues.... I tried using the 'invert' route in BC, not thinking about some route shaping points. I ended up with basically the route in reverse, but with some loop-d-loops around my shaping points.... Needless to say I had to add new shaping poin...
