Re: Audio disconnect
If I'm understanding correctly, the problem is too many "circular" Bluetooth connections. The XT needs to be the hub, meaning everything pairs to it, not to each other. This may eliminate your Goldwing connection because I'm not sure if the XT can handle it along with your phone and Sena. ...

Re: Soldering bullet plugs is next
As I've said before, the parasitic draw of the XT mount is a very tiny fraction of what your bike's clock, computer and perhaps other accessories draw with the key off.

Once again, the brains in this group come through for the rest of us. Many thanks! When are you guys going to market your own brand of GPS?

Re: XT cradle mount question
You may be overthinking this. Click or no click, I give it a quick tug and pop the sling onto it. I have ridden some pretty rough roads and still have my XT after many thousands of miles on one sling.

Re: XT cradle mount question
When I first got mine it popped out once or twice right after I inserted it. It stayed in the mount, but was not latched properly and would have fallen all the way off the bike while riding. This was definitely due to my not being familiar with the XT latching system and not a flaw in the mount. But...

Re: Fuel Gauge Setting ?
Being north of 70 (years), I have a much more accurate fuel warning system. As my friend and riding buddy puts it, "We run out of ass before we run out of gas."

Re: Zumo 660 - Request for Information Please
Still not enough juice to disconnect and connect to my computer for a screen shot, but I can verify that the preview map for a route shows orange flags for every shaping point (even though the 660 screen calls them Via Points).

Re: Zumo 660 - Request for Information Please
I have to work from memory because my 660 was retired a lot of brain cells ago. But I did do a lot of riding with it, so this may help... In general, shaping points created in BC, especially ones created by dragging the route, were often unreliable. Garmin always claimed that BC and the 660 are inco...

Re: Installing OpenTopoMaps on Mac
I am trying to install Garmin OpenTopoMaps on my MacBook Pro. I just want to be able to use the Topo maps with basecamp, not on any device. How is this done? I can't find anything that describes or shows this process of installing on a Mac. Anybody have thoughts on how to do this? This may not help...

Re: XT coming next week
Somewhere midway through this discussion @danham posted about the Silicone Sling by Tackform as a method of securing the XT in place. Well, I received mine this morning and had one installed within 5 minutes. I am really impressed. I think he exaggerated when it said "The extra 2 seconds requi...
