Re: Waypoints, or Shaping points?

Waypoints are points that you create and name within the app. Right click on a POI or location on the map to bring up the context menu. Via points are created when you use the route edit tool (rubber band) to relocate a route to your needs. The point that's created is, for now, a "via point&quo...

Re: Ugrade to 64 bit v4.8.2

My install(s) are working fine. Interesting to note though, the the title bar of the running app shows "Basecamp (Internal Release)" I wonder if someone jumped the gun releasing the app into the wild.

Re: Number of songs per device

At one time I had ~8000 on my 590 card using DoubleTwist to load them. Now about the same on my Nav 5 mSD card. The more you have the longer the unit needs to index them, to the point of appearing to be locked up. That's why I quit using the 128 gig card with my total 18k tune library on it. ;-)

Re: How to continue a route

I've said for a long time now, Do not create a route! Let me explain: Following this procedure will fix almost all of the issues people have with BaseCamp route creation. It's the way Garmin apps have always worked best dating back to the original MapSource. The point to point method was created by...

Re: Wired / Wireless Intercoms?

I recently went from a wired (StarComm) to a SENA 20 and for the most part I'm happy. The only flaw in the system is the SR10 module you need for wired peripherals such radar detectors and GMRS or Ham radio. Sometimes a bit glitchy. There <may> be an issue with water but a couple of short cloud burs...

Re: Learning and using Basecamp

What do you have installed for maps? This sounds like you don't have a routable map installed. That would explain a lot of your frustration.

Re: 590 themes

I modified one to be closer to the look of older auto club maps and the original MapSource colours. Only reason was familiarity, I knew what the colour meant. This is the one I had originally used for the example in the thread on the old site. I still use it.

Re: 590 themes

Guilty, I originated that post. :D The online tools are still available as mentioned above. It's a good idea to keep a copy of any theme you build, renamed is best. Just a note. The gentleman who originated and maintained the software on the javawa site had a stroke and is no longer able to maintain...

Re: Old forum

My vote is to build this site and let the previous one fade away. Rewarding bad behaviour isn't the way to go.
