software to upload Poi's (Points of Interest) into your Garmin, ie speed camera alerts etc, it's Garmin software and readily available to download for free from Garmins site

map layers won't put favourites on the map, best way of doing it would be to put your favourites into a POI (points of interest) file and load them into the XT with POI Loader

I think it's an XT software issue, because the exact same SD card works fine on my Zumo 395, will all 4500 mp3s on it playable
