Yep, when initializing it crashes. Talked to Garmin support. They gave me some instructions for changing the registry. No go. Played around and found out if I deleted the database folder in the path down through users Basecamp fired right up, but with no data. I ran my last backup file and it worked...

Thanks for the response. No gpx file opens with Basecamp. Saved a gpx file opened with Mapsource under a new name. Basecamp failed trying to open. Created a new gpx file from Basecamp data (opened with Mapsource obviously), saved and then tried to open with Basecamp. Nuttin.

Well, went to open a gpx file with version 4.6.2 and Basecamp wouldn't open. Came up with the error message to install the newer version of Basecampl 4.7.3. I have tried uninstalling 4.6.2, reinstalling it, even installed 4.7.3. Nothing. All I get is the error message to install 4.7.3 after Basecamp...

As a follow up with Garmin, a friend of mine talked to a Garmin rep about those unknown dots on 2021.1. He did acknowledge he saw the dots as labeled 'unknown' and would check into having those dots removed.

All I can say is that the dots I am seeing don't resolve into any business, etc. They just say unknown. I guess I'll live with it.

They appear on both 2021.3 and 2020.3 I didn't check any further.

Hmmm, the dots I am referring to don't have any names when you zoom in. And they don't appear in my version of 2020.3
A mystery to me.

Russ - I drilled down and unticked everything and still have these 'unknown' points. Have no idea what they are.

Don't know what they are. When you hover over them, it says unknown.

Hey Russ. Good to see ya. Yep, I have tried that. Actually took out all features and those little unknown dots still showed up. I can 'kind of' get rid of them if lower the map resolution from highest, but they still show up when I zoom in. Weird, because they are not there on the 2020.3 map version.
