Re: Planned distance not making sense

Screen shots ?? Or - send the gpx file that you sent from Basecamp to Explore . I'll see if I can reproduce it / find out what the issue is. ------------------ The following are observations that I made a couple of years ago when I looked into the behaviour in detail. It may have changed since then,...

Re: Zumo xt2 screen unresponsive

Thanks for the update. Did you have to return everything, or just the console ? What did the dealer say - they were going to return it to Zumo ? I always think that it is a pain having to remove wiring, which may involve removing fairing etc. But it is a nice bonus if you just return the unit, and g...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

Actually, providing you have gon e through the start point, any route section consisting of only shaping points will behave in a similar way. Rejoin the route anywhere and it will continue navigating from where you are. It is easier to trust if you try it first with autorecalc disabled - you can mor...

Re: Talk to XT

That is the step that I have yet to confirm. Does the XT pass on voice commands to the phone. There is no reason why it shouldn't - it passes on two way phone communication - set up with the XT at the centre, there is no direct BT link between headset and phone. I stopped investigating when I realis...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

The 660 was superb. Plot a route and you could join it anywhere - a fact that was an issue for the easily confused. Circular routes ending at the start point would issue the comment 'Arriving at Destination' and stop the route as soon as you set off. Figure 8 routes also caught people out as at the ...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

There has been a lot of terminology descriptive in this discussion which I may now through a wrench into. I has been made clear that a Via Point is an alerting route point and Shaping Point is a non-alerting route point, but, I believe these points are treated differently depending on whether they ...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

Triplog In your screen shot: Image1.png The points with orange flags are set as Via Points. Alerting. The points with blue discs are set as Shaping Points - Not alerting. This is how they would appear on the Zumo screen. Ignore the caption at the top which says that there are 6 Via Points. There ar...

Re: Being forced to go back to a waypoint

So when you say "Waypoint" you mean 'Via Point".ie alerts on approach and arrival. Shows as a flag on the Zumo screen.?

Re: ZUMO XT2 CONCLUSIONS

No argument from me about that ! I've always advocated using a Via Point after potential stopping place - on the road that you would take whether or not you visit the stopping place - simply so that if you stop and accidentally end your route while fiddling with the Zumo, you have a point that you c...
