Does anyone know how to get a note to stay up the chimney ? It just keeps falling down when I do it.

I believe that you can add a number to your home location - which is in Tools / My Data / Set Home Location.

I very much doubt it for me (re mobile phones as sat navs) I like the ability to plan stuff on the computer and transfer it to the satnav - and to transfer the logs back again. The issue is not Shaping Points vs Waypoints. Waypoints are locations that are prepared and stored ready for use - maybe in a route, maybe not. They contain additional information such as address, phone number, elevation. They can be created in Basecamp using the flag tool, or obtained from the data...

Windows machine ? Try running Garmin Express as administrator. Also, i noticed a different in file structure with recent releases. It puts files where you specify and a shortcut where the files used to be stored. Find out where on your system the working maps are located, and install the files there...
