Re: Link - How to Improve 660/665 Performance

I don't agree with this article above saying that putting maps on top grade sd is still worse than a 2009 worn out internal flash. It is non-sense. The onboard flash is certainly no better than modern one, and it is NOT internal volatile memory like the RAM. I ran with a 8GB, 16GB and finally 32GB s...

Re: mediaplayer and line-in sharing questions

The Slide bar can be used to scrub within the track if the music is coming from the mp3 folder in the Zumo. Not if it is coming from a bluetooth link from (say) a smartphone. The volume is plenty loud enough into my autocom unit, and i have tried it with a bluetooth headset, which is also good. I d...

Re: bluetooth 5 interference cuts audio/instructions out

I managed to revive an old headset with a new battery and the problem was not showing.
So this is a problem with the sena 20s headset.

hidden screens in zumo 660/665

Partially from https://www.gps-forums.com/threads/garmin-secret-menus.46595/ But just in case it goes away: 1) touch hold the gps signal bars -> satellites status Not much to do here. Can exit without causing reboot. 2) touch hold the battery level bars -> lots of screens. Exiting causes reboot. You...

mediaplayer and line-in sharing questions

I'm considering buying the 595. I would like some details. a) the media player has a mp3 track bar at the top; can you seek in the sond by clicking on it? b) does the line-in have some automatic gain control? do you have enough volume or does it require the outputing device to boost it's output? c) ...

Re: bluetooth 5 interference cuts audio/instructions out

I doubt that Garmin will fix this on their 660 - that's way out of date now. Can you try with a modern Garmin device or a dfferent headset? See if you can isolate the issue? Alan Garmin did fix a major date bug just last month on the 660, so they can do it again for something worse, especially if t...

bluetooth 5 interference cuts audio/instructions out

Problem: while listening to music over bluetooth A2DP profile from gps (zumo 660, bluetooth 2) to a headset (sena 20s, bluetooth 4.1), the music is interrupted when crossing path with other people on the road. Additionally, when music is not playing (assuming the failure occurred silently), the gps ...

Re: WNRO (week number roll over) bug once battery removed

GOOD NEWS: zumo 660 fix available !! installed and checked: it works. (No details on how they did it.) World clock app works again, date is june 4th 2019 as expected, timezones display times. Sunrise/Sunset are sane again. The 'automatic' checkbox when setting time is back. The settings/system/about...

Re: WNRO (week number roll over) bug once battery removed

But I assume we can reset the time somehow if this does happen (can't we?) Alan no, we can change time (hour and to 15min error) but we cannot change the date. that's the whole reason this is a major bug. (I hoped the recent garmin express update wold have brought a workaround like maybe a propriet...

Re: WNRO (week number roll over) bug once battery removed

Has anyone tried connecting the zumo to a power supply and then removing the battery? Does that prevent the problem? I wouldn't try on a PC connection because of the fear of crashing the internal or external SD card filesystem. On a mere power charger, the gps didn't loose its current time, so I gu...
