Oh that's great! I used to use this site but then it stopped working for me for a while, which is why I came up with the other scheme. It seems like Google often makes changes that break a lot of these support efforts.

One thing I noticed the other day: sometimes that particular Google Maps site goes weird and you can't add new points to a route. If you re-load and mouse around on your path, eventually the previous waypoints that you added will appear, and you can move those, and then it all goes back to normal ...
