Re: Upate questions Z550 & Z595

Bill, in regards to the SD card, Garmin says 4Gb is the limit, however many here have used card larger. 8Gb and 16Gb are quite common and I personally use a 32Gb in mine. It will hold all my maps in their entirety as well as a large selection of Music(should I need it). Thanks for the reply. Are yo...

Re: Upate questions Z550 & Z595

Bill I can't answer your Apple OS questions. But, I use a Zumo 550 (and 450) and a Zumo 590. I updated all my devices to the latest map update. I did not have to make any allowances for each device. I load the map (entire USA) to my computer, and then I use MapInstall to load the maps to the Zumos....

Upate questions Z550 & Z595

Hello all, It’s been a while since visiting here. I’m a long-time Zumo 550 owner and a much shorter time Zumo 595 user. Yesterday I came across discussion of the abilities MapManager to pick and choose certain map areas to install on a device. Particularly the 550 with its limited storage capabiliti...

Re: Zumo 550 Lifetime Updates

Thank you for that. Another tool to have. As it happens, some combination of forcing a new Garmin Device.xml file and probably having the 550 mounted up without the SD card in the Zumo, but rather being in my card slot, Mapinstall saw it as the Zumo and happily installed a map set that this time unl...

Re: Zumo 550 Lifetime Updates

...snip... I load the USA and Canada map to my PC - install option computer only. I then attach my 450 (or 550) to my computer and run Express with install option computer only. Since the US/Canada map is already installed on my PC it doesn't load the map again, but it goes through a couple of minu...

Data Transfer Practices

Hi, I have just finished the NER BaseCamp Tutorials. Nice information and very well prepared. Even for a person that has stumbled around BaseCamp for 10 years or more. Thank you! This question for the group centers around data transfer practices for moving between BaseCamp and the computer it runs o...

Re: Track archive file too big

I realize this is an old post.

Have you tried Transfer>Receive from Device with the GPS mounted in BaseCamp? Limit data transferred to just the tracks if that is all you are after.

Re: Zumo 595 Map Location

If you bought a the map from Garmin on an sd card it is locked to that card and cannot be moved to another card. Was it on an sd card or a micro sd card with an adapter? No, not on a card. Delivery was from Garmin via download with Gamin Express. The map is City Navigator Europe NT. It was download...

Re: Zumo 595 Map Location

No, later devices can use any name you wish, but I suggest you simply use the name allocated to it, which will be gmapprom. With 1 Gb free though I'd be tempted to leave 'as is'. Note this doesn't prevent you from having another continent on a sd card that you swap in when needed, your device will ...
