Re: XT3 crash (hopes of a decent nav dashed)

Great response from Garmin.
Received return label. Dropped off at UPS pickup point.
4 days & returned, acknowledged receipt & credited.
Think I’ll hang on and watch others long term reviews before dipping back in, probably also investigate alternatives as the XT3 was offering many options and ...

Re: XT3 crash (hopes of a decent nav dashed)

Thanks,
In my case. The Ducati comes with a specific switched connection for a satnav unit. So you’re not hunting around trying to pick up 12v. It’s “manufactured for that purpose.
Not synced to tread app. Ie tread app not installed. Garmin unit used as stand alone
New device using proven ...

Re: XT3 crash (hopes of a decent nav dashed)

Not fit for purpose.

But everyone that this happens to, XT, XT2 or XT3 should report it to Garmin otherwise they can simply respond that it’s news to them, so far from the truth of an expensive product that doesn’t perform correctly and hasn’t for years.
Or of course not bother and put up with it ...

Re: XT3 crash (hopes of a decent nav dashed)

Unfortunately sync to Tread was not enabled and therefore is not blameable even though it’s very clunky, not user friendly and looks like software from 20yrs ago.
Unlikely to be a simple software solution or they would have fixed it years ago when the original XT was crashing regularly.
Techs always ...

XT3 crash (hopes of a decent nav dashed)

Brand new xt3 first proper run out. 200 miles. Crashed 5 times. Just goes to a black screen and takes ages to restart. Hopeless

My xt2 & my xt crashed occasionally for no apparent reason.
Well…. Whatever the reason is Garmin haven’t fixed it. They’ve included it :(

Re: Latest XT3 software version

I’d report it anyway. It can’t be just you.

XT3 HOW TO

First 3 how to questions from me.
1) how to get the speed cameras to show, they were on the xt2. Where are they?
2) how to change deg F to deg C but stay in miles . UK
3) how to change map themes, they were on the xt2. Where are they?

Re: Should I buy an XT2?

Simple answer is the xt2 can do it no problem at all.
But it doesn’t connect directly to basecamp. So you have to mess around to transfer.
Get an XT if you want to continue using the method you’re used to.

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts

All my music is on sd card
Resets happen with no routes or tracks in the memory
It’s either a hardware or poor coding problem.

Re: XT2 turns off and restarts

The move to Tread, which wasn’t very many years ago was applauding. You only have to look at the app responses.
It’s improved, but syncing is still very clunky.
Basecamp, though no longer supported by XT2 is still by far the easiest way of route planning anything with a number of waypoints so as ...
