Re: Firmware for Group Ride Radio?

I just installed it, not because I have any use for it, but because I was tired of getting nagged on my XT, iPhone and Apple Watch with numerous alerts that "new firmware" was available. Takes less than 2 seconds to install and doesn't seem to have broken anything. Yet. ;-)

Re: XT is convinced an open road is closed

Good point about Google maps. My wife checked Route 6 on her phone and it was green all the way.

XT is convinced an open road is closed

This strikes me as a problem caused by the traffic reporting service that the XT "subscribes" to, but thought I'd share. Last night we asked the XT to route us home from a restaurant during torrential rain. It certainly would be possible for various roads here on Cape Cod to be closed due ...

Re: Music stops and getting unwanted U turns ZUMO XT

I find that with most (but oddly, not all) map updates, I need to recalculate existing routes in Basecamp and then transfer to my XT. This can be a PITA because they then need (I think) to be "fixed" using the JaVaWa tool to prevent repeated U-turns, but that inconvenience is less than hav...

Another data point. I'm on an iMac and sometimes need to run apps as Administrator. I did not have to do that in this case.

Re: CN NA 2025.10

Just to add a data point. I updated the map on my XT over WiFi and it took only about 20 minutes. This beats the crippled USB connection I had been using. But to get 2025.10 into Basecamp, I of course had to use same. But imagine my astonishment when it took less than 10 minutes. Is this a new deal,...

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/ This web site has very nice free SD card formatting software for both Windows and Mac and here is their take on sizes/formats: You can format both standard size SD memory cards and microSD memory cards based on the following capacity types: SD/microSD card...

Re: Audio disconnect

If I'm understanding correctly, the problem is too many "circular" Bluetooth connections. The XT needs to be the hub, meaning everything pairs to it, not to each other. This may eliminate your Goldwing connection because I'm not sure if the XT can handle it along with your phone and Sena. ...

Re: Soldering bullet plugs is next

As I've said before, the parasitic draw of the XT mount is a very tiny fraction of what your bike's clock, computer and perhaps other accessories draw with the key off.

Once again, the brains in this group come through for the rest of us. Many thanks! When are you guys going to market your own brand of GPS? ;-)
