I use Mapsource for creating all my routes for my Zumo 660, (but Basecamp for my Camper 760 Nuvi unit).
The benefit of Mapsource is the ability to right click and view in Google Satellite Imagery on Google Maps, something sadly lacking with Basecamp.

Re: Zumo 660 - Request for Information Please
I'm a long term user of a 660 and Mapsource, so probably no help to you, I just create routes and then drag it to where I want to go, works a treat. Don't need or use announcements, and unlike the two 'Nuvi' units I also use, if I go off route, the Zumo doesn't automatically re-route. Any 'Shaping' ...

Re: CN NA 2024.20
since I see no place on this entire Zumo Forum for any questions and answers on using Garmin;s MapInstall program, I am starting to believe that either #1 no one knows MapInstall even exists, or #2 no one understands what it's for, or #3 no one knows how to use it. I am inclined to believe now that...

Re: Garmin withdraw map updates for older devices
Just to add, the method above pre-supposes that you have the Garmin Program 'Mapinstall' on your computer.

Re: Garmin withdraw map updates for older devices
Whenever I update my 660 I always get the message, 'not enough memory' despite having a large enough memory card.carolinarider09 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 17, 2023 4:16 pm But the 660 and my wife's Nuvi are not listed. Guess they have enough memory.
I always go through the routine as described by Ikraus.

I was actually replying to your headline 'End of Life' showing that my 660 is still updating when new maps are available.
I don't know why your having these issues.... sorry.

Re: End of life, no more map updates for 660/665?
I have owned my 660 for many years, and though I get a similar message about lack of memory (despite a memory card fitted), I get over it by downloading the latest maps, (currently Europe NT 2024.1) to my laptop, then use Mapinstall to load the maps onto my device.
