Variety of Waypoint Icons Not Showing Up?
Hi, I'm creating routes in Basecamp for Mac on my MacBook Pro. I'm taking a 20 day trip in which I created 20 seperate routes with waypoints in BC. I named them Day 01, Day 02, Day 03 and so on. Each route has anywhere from 5 to 25 waypoints making sure I stayed under the 31 alerted waypoint limit. ...

Re: Checking for update
Just checked Garmins "wonderful app"..... Garmin Express. There are map updates but, totally useless in my world. As for the software update 7.18.0.0 even more useless which carries problems as shown at the following link. This is exactly why I don't want automatic updates for anything.......

Re: Checking for update
I'm currently on software version 6.50. There is a new update that I haven't done yet. Are you on the latest version or a different version? Thanks. Ray I am on version 6.50. I am not aware of a new version being available. The following is showing up on my XT for updates. I havn't updated yet due ...

Re: Checking for update
Look at Settings/Wireless Networks/WiFi. You untick the box to stop updates. There is something else involved because mine doesn't check for updates even with wifi enabled and connected. I think that it used to though. I don't know why it doesn't auto-check now. Other than turning wifi off, I've ne...

Re: Checking for update
Always dicey to diagnose from far away, but this behavior sounds a lot like what happens if the battery in the XT runs down. The fact that you charged it and then it started working again supports this, but is not proof. And obviously 15 minutes of sleep shouldn't kill a fully charged battery. How ...

Re: Checking for update
Whenever I have the XT connected to an external power source, and that power source is lost before I push the power button, the XT always checks for updates and then turns off. However, it you push the power button while under battery or external power, it will just go into sleep mode. If you push ...

Re: BC Route to XT Not Showing Up?
Ray, This is far from the only way to get a route from BC on a Mac to the XT, but it has (for me) one big advantage: it deals with just one item at a time, making it much easier to find and diagnose any glitches. If you move/copy/drag/send more than one route from BC, they get stuffed together into...

Re: BC Route to XT Not Showing Up?
Also, there must be another way to clean up an SD card other than jumping into Garmins hidden world of files.... At least I'm hoping so. There is. With the XT connected you can delete data that is on the SD card from within BaseCamp in the same way that you would delete BaseCamp data. It is in Memo...
