I had an intermittent power supply problem and it turned out to be a poor contact between the cradle pins and the Zumo.
I scrounged a piece of 0.6mm fishing line from a friend. Tied a slip knot around the power cable where the plug met with the cradle and I have never had that problem since.

I've been plagued by this problem even after my post in Sept 22 and today I think I've cured it. Basically the plug is only held in by a tiny screw to the cradle and there is next to no flange surfaces on the plug to stop the plug moving in the cradle, hence causing an intermittent connection. This happened to me a lot with my old 395. I fitted a volt meter to see if it was an interruption in power supply and it was rock-solid at the times the unit shut down. I tried improving the contacts with heated screen repair paint, which did not make that much difference in improving the contact pr...

An old thread but for the record, I had a 395, which developed the loss of power symptom, so common to other models. My first though was the contacts between the cradle and the 395, so I put small blobs of heated rear screen repair paint onto the brass pads. To be honest i don't think that it worked...
