Re: Latest XT routing weirdness
I bring 2 Zumo XT (1) on any long trip, and for good reason. Last week we left Bangor Maine with the XT running - after about 6 hours on the interstate highways I keyed in a new destination further along on our trip which should have taken 2 hours but the arrival time was 6+ hours. Here and there ...

Re: When I Switch My Garmin Zumo XT To USB-C, What Wire Size Should I Use?
On earlier Garmin devices powered by the USB-C (stepped down to 5 volts) the connection was a weak spot. Vibrations and the small contact area of the USB-C (both male and socket) would lose connection frequently. I ended up with a USB-C 90 degree male plug that could have pressure applied to hold ...

Re: Is Anybody Else Here Having Problems With their Garmin Zumo XT Mini USB Port?
Every Garmin I've ever owned had mini-usb issues when used on a motorcycle. A solution that worked for me was a 90 degree male mini-usb and a springy steel strap rigged up to apply pressure against the flat side of the mini-usb plug. Depending on the mount you use this might be a solution.

Re: Wild goose chase

Re: Wild goose chase
This is in Mexico, a route I planned late last year on MRA. Wheels on the ground it took me about 75% of the way to the #3 way point and then went screwy - sending me into little towns and corkscrewing around them, left, right, into dead ends, gravel pits, and passages that clearly were more for ...

Re: Wild goose chase
Thanks, I'll try that with starting points a little up the road from where I am. Avoidances are all off, and fastest time (learned that the hard way last year)... I've had Garmin GPS units for a dozen years - always car units I used on a motorcycle, Those performed very well although the data base ...

Re: Wild goose chase
More problems. In Mexico using the 2nd Zumo XT . From the hotel a destination was 13 miles away. I used the Zumo XT screen to find a route. It claimed 11 miles. Following the prompts on the screen it took 90 minutes via a circuitous route which made no sense. We finally arrived at the destination ...

Re: Wild goose chase
I haven't got a clue why this might have happened in your case. I would need a lot more information.
How did you plan your route ? What software ? Did you plan it on the XT screen, or did you use the Explore App or Website?
Is this a route that you were following - with start, end and some route ...
