That is very interesting and incredibly useful information that you have discovered - thank you for describing how this works - I don't think that I would ever have found this out on my own and it will be extremely helpful to me.

Oh Dear - I got rid of my Zumo 396LMT-S because it did this very same thing - and not just the one time.
I bought the ZumoXT thinking that the 396 was a rogue unit - perhaps I was wrong - I do hope not.

I understand what you're saying sussamb, but I checked that the route on the XT matched the planned route on Basecamp after the XT had been un-plugged from the computer and was running on its internal battery and therefore using the XT internal maps and algorithms and it did all match. I do not have...
