Shame could have been a useful feature.

Is there any chance my XT will get voice control to request addresses or favourites to plan a route? It so annoying that you have to stop to search the menu system to find what you want when simply using a headset which is linked to the device you could just request an address or destination.

I've done just that. I've now wired it to the battery instead of the aux plug and it charges. I'll just have to remember to turn it off each time or remove it from the mount so's not to flatten the battery.

The fog light has a dedicated socket I replaced it by plugging in the Garmin lead and mount. When I press the fog light switch it turns the satnav on and device powers up and shows its charging. Returned satnav under warranty but the replacement does extactly the same. However when I plugged it into the dedicated output for my fog lights it shows it's charging. Output from both plugs is 12v with 5.14v at the mount pin. It's got me puzzled.

I am returning the device under warranty as it's only a couple of weeks old. Hopefully the replacement will fair better. Thanks for the input.

I've done a reset from the delete data/reset screen, but don't know whether this is a factory reset.

When attached to mount it powers up but goes straight to battery mode not charge mode.

Yes 12v and 5.14v at pin.

It's the motorcycle mount it won't charge from.
