I keep a TopoActive map checked for the area in which I ride. I doesn't appear to create any problem with routing.
As for unpaved roads, I find the XT terrible at identifying them resulting in routing over them even with that avoidance enabled. I assume the map is at fault. Maybe not???

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Edit: This would explain why trips that have no departure date set always appear on top. They have a value of '00 00 00 00' in mArrival, so that's the lowest value possible. This makes sense, although completely illogical from an XT user standpoint. Do you think that secondary sort of routes withou...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Below is a photo of the appropriate section in The Living Webster Encyclopedic Dictionary of the English Language copyright 1977. According to this, 'route' is not pronounced 'root' but 'rout' so if 'rout' is pronounced the same as 'rowt' then a 'route' is 'rout' not a 'root". :D I wonder if my...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Then I wondered if there was something to do with the american pronunciation of route -- rowt, which really grates with me when I see videos. We pronounce it as 'root' and don't break into giggles when we hear it because of the other meanings of that word. I pronounce it 'root' and 'rowt'. I ...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Choose the point to which you wish to assign a time. Select a time and Save. This sets the date as today, but sets the time as whatever you want. If you set a few as 1:00, 2:00,3:00 etc - then they will appear in that order. So, my inquiring mind wonders what happens to there sort order tomorrow. I...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
I know that this post is about trips (routes) and not tracks, but just to confirm. I agree that trips are Sorted on date/time, but Tracks are sorted on proximity. Yes, Tracks are sorted on proximity, actually showing the distance and direction to their starting point. If Trips (what we have been ca...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Just had another quick look at my screen shots. I think you are right. I am wrong. Sorting is by date / time only. Proximity doesn't come into it. I was fooled by one of the screen shots whic supported my beliefs - but the others didn't. I'm getting careless in my old age ! No worries. I am glad th...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
Thanks for working on this John. FWIW, I export my routes to my hard drive, copy them to the SD card, then import them into trip planner. All of my local routes have an almost exact proximity from my home because they use one of two starting points, either 100 yards left or 100 yards right out of my...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
IMO, the tests should be 1. Numerous routes that have a departure date, each one day after the other. No other routes on the XT. Their sort order in the XT Trip Planner app should be by departure date. 2. Add some old routes to the XT. These should be ones created in BC awhile ago so that their crea...
