If the XT2 works like the XT I suppose once your hit Go you could then go in Route Planner and save the active route, stop the active route, then load the saved version and start your ride.

I wouldn't fight to try to figure out the roundabout routing problem. Instead I would put a route point at the 3:00 position on the roundabout and make it a Direct point. nb - I let mine go flat the other day - which it did while I was using it and it was plugged into a charger via the USB cable ! It clearly draws more power then the charger was supplying. It doesn't do this on the bike - so perhaps the bike cradle puts more current into it ?? Guessing. I don't know...

When exporting, I select the route and then do File > Export > Export Selection to export just the route. Waypoints are included but not importable separately.
