Re: Using a Packtalk Edge with a Zumo 595
I'm astounded!!! I pulled an old iPhone7 out of the junk drawer, charged it, connected it to home wi-fi, when to the app store and installed Cardo Connect on it, and then attached and configure my and my wife's Packtalk Bold units. Not only am I surprised that this works, but I was also surprised th...

Re: Service Provider Needed?
Does a Garmin Zumo XT require an internet service account or other type of monthly fee account for the GPS to work while on the road? Nope. Maps are stored on the XT. It communicates directly with satellites for location purposes. It can work in conjunction with the Garmin Drive app on a phone to p...

Re: New from Denver, USA
Welcome to the forum from Charlotte, NC with a brother in Franktown, CO. My wife and I rode out there in 2022 and spent some time in your great state. No worries about asking stupid questions. The forum members haven't indicated that they are tired of my mine. In fact, it's the contrary. They feel l...

Re: Using a Packtalk Edge with a Zumo 595
My, possible, solution to using a phone to tweek the Cardo settings was going to be to take a second phone that is only used for that purpose and not switched on when the Cardo, Zumo and phione with Garmin Smart Link are in use. Would that work? This is an great idea. Having to manage my two Cardo'...

Those were the days! I can picture my tank bag with the transparent top pocket containing a folded map and handwritten turn instructions.

Re: Hello from Bristol...!
Just put a new SD card in the XT and turn it on. It does the formatting for you. I wonder if that is only with select SD cards because mine didn't. Perhaps because I have a 64GB card??? Perhaps because it came exFAT formatted??? Default FAT32 formatting with my Windows PC gave it 32GB of usable spa...

Re: Trip Planner Routes
This is my third day home after my last trip. I just fired up my XT so that I could delete the route and track associated with that trip. What a surprise it was to see that the sort order in the Delete Trips function of Trip Planned is different from the Trip Planner Saved Trips list. I don't know w...

Re: XT routing offroad despite avoidances
I keep a TopoActive map checked for the area in which I ride. I doesn't appear to create any problem with routing.
As for unpaved roads, I find the XT terrible at identifying them resulting in routing over them even with that avoidance enabled. I assume the map is at fault. Maybe not???
