Re: XT not following planned route

Ok I am not all that concise with my terms. But my two methods work. Been using the Zumos since the 550. Everyone in our group has a different model.. BMW, 395, 595 etc…. And we all landed up with our gps’s making different routes from our master route. We have finally solved the problem. This is wh...

Re: regretting buying the zumo xt

The 595 will allow you to use the maps on the GPS via your computer. I would advise against. It is slow and choppy. The USB connect is the bottle neck. I image the XT will allow you to do the same.

Re: regretting buying the zumo xt

On the 2 Garmin Zumos I have had, (550 & 595). You just turn it on and view the map with no destination. Use your finger to move the map N,S,E,W. Zoom in using the plus and minus buttons. Touch and hold it will ask you if you want to go. :D If my Garmin is having trouble finding something I will...

Re: regretting buying the zumo xt

I will put in an address that is close, cross roads can work to. You can also zoom in on the map using the gps touch the place you want to go and it will ask you if you want to go there. Life is an endless series of work arounds. : :o

Re: Problems with routes

I just made a route that was 3000 miles 1 week long. I did not run out of points. A work around is to bend the route by grabbing it by one of the white points and shape it. Use the way points sparingly. With that said I am going to use one map per day next time I plan one. It is to easy to mess up y...

Re: Problems with routes

There are 2 ways to get routes to stay on route. 1. Use Google MY Maps to make a route. Export to KMZ format. It’s now a track. Open Base Camp. Import the KMZ file. Right click and convert it from a track to a route. It stays pinned down. Tracks have a lot of shaping points. There are only 2 waypoin...

Re: regretting buying the zumo xt

I have learned to use BaseCamp. I had a zumo 550. BaseCamp worked well. You just had to know the tricks. I now have a 595. Gave up on BaseCamp. The tricks no longer work. The gps would not stay on the route. It would override. What I discovered is Google My Maps. It is so much easier to use. It is a...
